Yacht Lulus: Years of Charter Experience Unveiled

Chartering a Yacht: The Journey of the Yacht Lulus

Chartering a yacht isn’t simply a way to enjoy a relaxing vacation; it also inspires some cruisers to buy their own yacht. Take the couple who recently christened their new yacht, Lulus, for example. Their story emphasizes how years of chartering can transform an idea into reality.

    The Backstory of Lulus

In December 2023, this couple signed a contract for an impressive 146-foot (44-meter) Mangusta Oceano 44. Interestingly, their yacht ownership journey began long before that contract was inked. After years of chartering various yachts, they made careful mental notes about what made their cruising experiences enjoyable. “Those years represented a remarkable journey,” says Daniela Duck, the managing director of Camper & Nicholsons Italy and head of the company’s New Build Division. This journey was mutually beneficial; their initial relationship with Camper & Nicholsons paved the way for a deeper understanding of their preferences, culminating in the decision to build their first superyacht.

    Design and Features of Lulus

Lulus is the seventh hull in the Mangusta Oceano 44 series, introduced in 2021. This series is known for taking the alfresco lifestyle to new heights. One standout feature is the skylounge, which serves as an indoor-outdoor space thanks to full-height glass openings on three sides. Owners and guests can enjoy a generous 1,055 square feet (98 square meters) of space on this deck, perfect for memorable conversations and breathtaking views. The glass bulkheads on every deck further enhance the feeling of spaciousness, despite the 28’6” (8.7-meter) beam.

    A Designer’s Touch

The yacht’s exterior design is the brainchild of Alberto Mancini, who is well-respected in the yachting community. While clients typically have the option to select a different interior designer, the owners of Lulus chose to work with him throughout the entire design process. Accommodating up to 10 guests in five staterooms, Lulus offers a highly desirable arrangement for both owners and charterers. The master suite, located at the front of the main deck, benefits from a skylight, while all other guest cabins are situated below decks. Although the specifics of the décor remain under wraps, Duck describes the yacht as “distinctive,” hinting at a unique take on luxury.

    Future Endeavors

The yacht is scheduled for delivery later in the summer. Following the owners’ inaugural voyage, Lulus will be available for charter through the central listing of Camper & Nicholsons, offering future guests a chance to experience its luxurious offerings and custom features firsthand.
