Norway’s Solstad Maritime has secured a contract extension with compatriot marine construction and operations player Ocean Installer, part of the Moreld Group, for an advanced multi-purpose offshore construction vessel built in 2014.
On July 7, Solstad Maritime announced a significant one-year contract extension for the 157-meter-long vessel, Normand Vision, with Ocean Installer. This arrangement comes in direct continuation of their existing contract, securing operations through the end of 2028. The agreement also includes options for two additional annual extensions, potentially extending operations into 2030 and even a further mechanism allowing for a possible contract extension until 2031.
The Normand Vision, an advanced construction support vessel (CSV), is specifically designed for heavy construction projects in challenging maritime environments. It excels in handling subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines (SURF) operations, reinforcing its status as a pivotal asset in offshore construction endeavors. Given its specialized capabilities, this vessel is capable of supporting extensive underwater installations and maintenance tasks critical to the energy sector.
Solstad Maritime and Ocean Installer previously agreed on the first optional one-year contract extension in October 2025, which keeps the Normand Vision operational until the end of 2027.
