Port 32 Marinas Acquires Acme Marinas, Expanding to 17 Premier Superyacht Locations

Port 32 Marinas Expands Its Reach with Acme Marinas Acquisition

Port 32 Marinas, known for catering to yacht and megayacht owners, is making waves in the boating community by significantly expanding its portfolio. With the recent acquisition of Acme Marinas, Port 32 has nearly doubled its holdings, now boasting an impressive 4,000 slips across 17 prime locations. This growth positions the company as a leading force in the marina industry, especially appealing to East Coast cruisers.

    Popular New Additions

The seven newly integrated marinas are quickly gaining traction among boaters. Acme’s portfolio includes high-demand waterfront destinations situated in Massachusetts, New York, Maryland, and Florida’s Gulf Coast. Among these, Vineyard Haven Marina, Coinjock Marina & Restaurant, and MacDougall’s Cape Code Marine Service in Massachusetts stand out. Sag Harbor Yacht Yard in New York and Annapolis Landing Marina in Maryland further bolster the appeal, ensuring that Port 32 Marinas can meet the diverse needs of superyacht owners and their crews.

While Acme’s Gulf Coast property in Sanibel isn’t equipped to accommodate superyachts, it remains a well-known marina, celebrating a long-standing history among boating enthusiasts.

    Existing Marina Gems

Prior to the merger, Port 32 Marinas had already established itself as a desirable choice for yacht owners and captains. For instance, Port 32 Fort Lauderdale was designed explicitly for luxury yachts up to 180 feet (55 meters), offering amenities suitable for vessels up to 150 feet (46 meters). Additionally, pre-leasing has commenced at the redeveloped Port 32 Palm Beach Gardens, which is set to open in December. This site will provide 20 in-water slips specifically designed for megayachts, enhancing the company’s attractiveness to high-end clientele.

    A Vision for Expansion

Austin Schell, CEO of Port 32, emphasizes the merger’s role in bolstering the company’s vision for a more extensive coastal marina network. “By bringing together complementary portfolios, additional talent, and a shared commitment to service excellence, we are creating a stronger organization,” he remarks, highlighting the potential for greater value for members, shareholders, and employees alike.

The acquisition is a strategic move for Port 32, enhancing its reach and capabilities in prime boating locations while ensuring a seamless experience for yacht owners.

    Leadership Continues Strong

Acme Marinas, established in 2021 with a sharp focus on acquiring high-quality marinas in strong waterfront markets, had made a name for itself quickly. Co-presidents Shelby Tucker and Stephen Shaw recognized the operational excellence and quality of Port 32’s marinas, which led to their desire to join forces. Both Tucker and Shaw will continue their involvement in the newly expanded organization, with Shaw stepping into the role of Chief Investment Officer and Tucker taking on dual roles as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer. This continuity in leadership promises to uphold the high standards and customer service that both companies are known for.

    Preserving Local Identity

Despite the acquisition, individual marinas will retain their unique local identities, ensuring that they continue to provide the tailored experiences that patrons expect. This approach not only honors the legacy of the acquired marinas but also allows Port 32 to expand its reach while maintaining a personal touch that is critical in the maritime community.
