Maiora 42 Exuma Yacht: Redefining the Standards of Luxury

One year after her initial public reveal, hull number one of the Maiora 42 Exuma yacht series is entering outfitting. She’s a remarkable vessel that promises to challenge longstanding conventions in yacht design and build.

The joined hull and superstructure recently arrived at the Next Yacht Group’s headquarters in Viareggio, Italy. At an impressive length of 139 feet (42.5 meters), this yacht follows customary composite construction practices. However, the Maiora flagship is innovating in several smart and unique ways. Notably, an open, sheltered bow design enhances alfresco enjoyment, providing a sun-protected space while increasing usable square footage on the upper level. This additional space is dedicated solely to leisure, allowing guests to savor the stunning views as they approach their next anchorage.

Connected to this alfresco area is a spacious indoor-outdoor lounge situated just aft, featuring glass openings on all four sides. Maiora has named this entire level the Infinity Upper Deck, a fitting title that reflects the expansive and fluid nature of the design. A notable difference between the initial renderings and the now-transferred structure is the inclusion of additional hardtop-sheltered space forward, providing even more versatility.

According to Giorgio M. Cassetta, who is responsible for the yacht’s exterior styling, Maiora aimed to reimagine both the aesthetics and the layout to maximize quality time for families onboard. The reconfiguration of the upper deck benefitted from input from prospective owners, resulting in a more functional and enjoyable experience. Cassetta mentions, “The most significant innovation brought by the shipyard was in the layout. We moved the guest cabins to the main deck, dedicating the lower deck to services and leaving the upper deck and sundeck completely free and fully dedicated to the guests.”

Interior aesthetics are being carefully curated in collaboration with the acclaimed fashion house Elie Saab, marking the Maiora 42 Exuma yacht as the designer’s first foray into the superyacht arena. The interior will feature selections from the Elie Saab Maison’s home décor collection, alongside custom furnishings tailored specifically for the yacht. Future owners can also collaborate with the design firm to craft their personalized space, all while utilizing exquisite Italian marbles and other high-quality materials sourced from Italy.
