Celebrating 30 Years of the Superyacht Cup Palma Richard Mille
The Superyacht Cup Palma, proudly sponsored by Richard Mille, is set to kick off on June 24, coinciding with an important milestone: its 30th anniversary. This prestigious regatta not only showcases impressive sailing vessels but also functions as a celebration of camaraderie and maritime culture, drawing one of the largest fields of competitors in its history.
A Legacy of Excellence in Sailing
As Europe’s longest-running superyacht-specific race, the Superyacht Cup has built a solid reputation for exhilarating competition coupled with a laid-back, owner-centric atmosphere. The Bay of Palma is known for its favorable sailing conditions, making it the perfect backdrop for this elite event. Organizers have been successful in welcoming new yachts and classes over the years while staying true to the regatta’s cherished traditions.

Returning Competitors
Among the returning racers are two J-Class yachts, Rainbow and Svea, which will compete head-to-head in their own category. This year sees a notable return for several other familiar names in the superyacht classes, including the two-time champion Win Win, a Baltic yacht, alongside the Oyster Archelon, the Vitters Cervo, and the Claasen Atalante 1, which is racing under new ownership this season.
New Faces
Excitingly, the regatta will also feature a handful of debut yachts, such as the Perini Navi Burrasca, the Wally Inco, along with the Nautor Swan yachts Point Counter Point and Spiip. For the first time, a dedicated YYachts racing division will be introduced, featuring six sleek carbon fiber yachts known for their speed. Among them are three Tripp Design models: Lucid, Distancia, and Bella. The remaining entries will include the Judel/Vrolijk Beati, the Brenta Makai, and the Surg-Projects Calabash. Interestingly, while the superyacht classes will have starts spaced two minutes apart, the YYachts will be launching every minute, adding an extra layer of excitement to the race.

Event Schedule Highlights
June 24 marks a special day with the captains’ briefing and welcome party, setting the stage for the much-anticipated races starting on June 25 and continuing through June 27. The powerboat company Wajer Yachts will provide two vessels as spectator platforms, ensuring that fans can get an up-close view of the thrilling action.
A New Atmosphere
Kate Branagh, the regatta owner and director, expressed her excitement about the upcoming event: “We are beyond delighted to be able to welcome so many entries to our 30th anniversary. With a new Regatta Village layout thanks to our Venue Partner Club de Mar-Mallorca, we will have all the boats together again, stern-to next to the main event tent.” She emphasized that the aim is to recreate the festive atmosphere and lively dockside party vibe that characterized past celebrations.
