Bourbon’s new inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) vessel has entered into service and is starting its first long-term contract offshore India.
With its recent launch, the Bourbon Evolution 810 signifies a noteworthy advancement in offshore maritime capabilities. This state-of-the-art IMR vessel is tailored for robust operations and is now positioned to serve the growing demands of the offshore energy sector in India. Positioned within a critical market, Bourbon’s latest addition promises to enhance operational efficiency and safety standards.
The Bourbon Evolution 810 is equipped with diesel-electric propulsion, making it not only efficient but also environmentally friendly. This system significantly reduces emissions, aligning with global efforts towards sustainability. Complementing this advanced propulsion system are two active heave-compensated cranes, boasting lifting capacities of 40 and 150 tons, respectively. This capability allows the vessel to handle diverse tasks, from installation to repair, effectively addressing the technical challenges prevalent in deepwater environments.
Designed to operate at impressive depths ranging from 2,500 to 3,000 meters, the Bourbon Evolution 810 retains key features seen in its sisterships while incorporating essential upgrades. Notably, advancements have been made to its dynamic positioning (DP3) system, allowing for superior maneuverability and stability in turbulent waters—a crucial feature that enhances its reliability during complex operations.
The technical specifications of the vessel extend further with the inclusion of two 200 HP remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), which amplify the vessel’s operational versatility. Delivered in Singapore in February, the vessel has a generous accommodation capacity, housing 105 personnel across 69 cabins.
