The Classic Channel Regatta, a cherished sailing event that draws maritime enthusiasts from around the globe, is set to return for its 21st edition from July 7 to July 15, 2026. With pre-registration now available, eligible participants are encouraged to secure their spot in this vibrant celebration of classic sailing.

Over the years, the Classic Channel Regatta has gathered sailors from countries including Britain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and Ireland, fostering a unique camaraderie rooted in a collective love for classic sailing. This year’s event promises to continue that rich tradition, enticing participants with its “Gentleman’s racing” style that emphasizes a more relaxed and inclusive racing atmosphere.
Racing and Revelry
For those drawn to the competitive edge of sailing, the regatta offers ample opportunities to race alongside seasoned navigators. What to Expect in 2026
The Classic Channel Regatta kicks off on July 7 with a welcoming drinks reception, followed by two exhilarating days of racing in Dartmouth. This will be succeeded by the much-anticipated classic channel race from Dartmouth to St. Peter Port.
This year introduces an exciting stopover in Lézardrieux, Brittany, enriching the experience before concluding in the picturesque town of Paimpol. Here, participants can join local festivities marking Bastille Day on July 14, blending nautical passion with rich cultural experiences.
July 15 wraps up the regatta with a final race around Île de Bréhat, leading into a celebratory picnic lunch. This last day promises ample opportunities for water sports, prize-giving ceremonies, and jubilant celebrations, creating lasting memories for all attendees.
Who Can Participate?
The regatta has a limited capacity of 100 participants, ensuring an intimate yet exciting atmosphere. Eligibility is open to yachts designed before 1968 for Class 1, while approved production yachts designed up to the end of 1974, as well as newer vessels constructed in a classic and traditional style, are welcome to join the race.
