Hong Kong’s FabriX at Paris Fashion Week 2025: A Daring Exploration of Tomorrow
Organized by Hong Kong’s acclaimed design hub PMQ in collaboration with the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode (FHCM), FabriX returns to Paris Fashion Week with its groundbreaking exhibition titled “Tomorrow Was _____: Fragments of Tomorrow, Told Through Fashion.” This marks the third consecutive year that the pioneering digital fashion house is taking part in this prestigious event, underscoring its growing influence in the global fashion narrative.
Imagining Futuristic Fashion
The immersive exhibition transforms the iconic Palais de Tokyo into a vibrant landscape exploring the enigmatic space between fading memories and futuristic aspirations. “Tomorrow Was _____” invites fashion aficionados and cultural enthusiasts to engage with the paradox of past and future through a rich blend of artistic expression, cutting-edge technology, and imaginative storytelling. FabriX’s curatorial vision seeks to redefine traditional fashion narratives, creating a dialogue among diverse cultures and encouraging a rethinking of the fashion experience.
Innovation Meets Storytelling
At the heart of this exhibition is the marriage of technology with artistic creativity. Through augmented reality (AR) try-ons, 4D visual creations, and artificial intelligence (AI) storytelling, FabriX is reshaping how fashion is perceived and experienced. This revolutionary showcase goes beyond the conventional runway format, exploring innovative collaborations that reflect its commitment to cultural exchange and the evolution of fashion for a new generation of consumers.
Four Designers, Four Unique Worlds
The exhibition is segmented into distinct chapters, each crafted by a unique pairing of visionary designers and artists. This collaborative approach spans various disciplines, from haute couture to choreography, generating four unique narratives that probe the question: “What will fashion mean tomorrow?”
- Tomorrow Was Archived (Imagery Installation)
In this installation, LVMH Prize finalist Alain Paul collaborates with Shanghai artist Liu Shuwei to create illuminated lightbox installations. Their work marries Paul’s dance-focused tailoring with Liu’s expertise in light and shadow, creating a captivating exploration of time and emotion. - Tomorrow Was Becoming (Dance Choreography Video)
Designer Caroline Hu, known for winning the first BoF CHINA PRIZE, teams up with celebrated choreographer Emma Portner. Their project merges Hu’s romantic couture with Portner’s bold exploration of movement, identity, and solitude in a captivating dance-film hybrid. - Tomorrow Was Glitched (AI-Generated Story)
Designer Didu, renowned for crafting the costumes for BLACKPINK’s “Deadline” World Tour, joins forces with AI artist 0nastiia. Together, they develop a tarot-inspired, AI-generated visual narrative that delves into themes of empowerment, transformation, and mysticism through a digital lens. - Tomorrow Was Inspiration (Haute Couture, 3D Sculpture & 4D Interactive Experience)
Acclaimed designer Kevin Germanier, who made headlines with his designs at the Paris Olympic Closing Ceremony, collaborates with 3D sculptor Ram2 and digital technologist James Cao. This partnership creates an interactive 4D-scanned couture experience, allowing visitors to step inside and engage with the artwork in real-time.
A Multi-Sensory Experience by Gary Card
To weave these narratives into a cohesive experience, FabriX has enlisted the talents of renowned set designer Gary Card. Known for his immersive environments for brands like Dover Street Market and Jean Paul Gaultier, Card’s ambitious set design employs a vibrant grid system to connect the works of all four designer-artist duos, resulting in a mesmerizing multi-sensory journey.
Where Technology and Haute Couture Converge
As a trailblazer in digital fashion innovation, FabriX has embraced technologies such as AR mirrors, interactive installations, and 4D visualization. The exhibition serves not just as a showcase, but as an immersive playground for the next generation of fashion lovers. Supported by organizations like Innsvx (Hong Kong), Style3D, and 4DV.ai (Hangzhou), the event celebrates an exhilarating fusion of craftsmanship, culture, and state-of-the-art technology—an experience that audiences can see, touch, and even wear.
