Energos Infrastructure, a maritime infrastructure company owned by funds managed by Apollo, has joined the Gas Industry Advisory Committee (GIAC) of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF), following approval by all EMGF member countries.

Energos aims to play an influential role in enhancing regional discussions around energy security, LNG infrastructure, and the ongoing development of the natural gas market. This important membership within the Gas Industry Advisory Committee highlights the company’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance regional collaboration.
Established as an international organization to foster cooperation among countries, the EMGF is dedicated to the sustainable development of natural gas resources across the East Mediterranean region. This initiative not only offers a platform for dialogue but also enhances infrastructure development and energy market integration, which are crucial for the region’s energy landscape.
Arthur Regan, CEO of Energos Infrastructure, emphasized the significance of the East Mediterranean’s growing influence within the global natural gas sector. He stated, “The East Mediterranean continues to play an increasingly important role within the global natural gas sector, and we believe floating LNG infrastructure can make a meaningful contribution to strengthening energy security and market flexibility across the region.”
The GIAC functions as the primary interface between the industry and the EMGF, enabling energy companies and infrastructure providers to engage with the forum’s overarching strategic and technical activities. By connecting these stakeholders, the GIAC aims to promote seamless collaboration, ensuring that various entities work together towards shared goals regarding energy security and infrastructure advancement.
Upon receiving membership approval, Regan expressed his gratitude, stating: “Energos Infrastructure is honored to join the EMGF Gas Industry Advisory Committee and to contribute to the forum’s important work supporting regional energy cooperation and infrastructure development.” This sentiment underscores the proactive stance Energos intends to adopt as it engages in discussions that will shape the future of the energy sector in the area.
Looking ahead, Energos Infrastructure is keen to actively participate in GIAC initiatives. The company aims to collaborate with EMGF member countries and industry stakeholders to develop the necessary LNG and natural gas infrastructure within the East Mediterranean. By aligning its goals with regional partners, Energos seeks to foster a robust energy market that supports both local needs and international demand.
Recent developments in the region support the move towards enhanced energy infrastructure. Notably, Egypt welcomed its second floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), owned by Energos Infrastructure, last year. This followed the company’s successful bid for a long-term LNG services assignment in the Dominican Republic, further highlighting Energos’ expanding role in the global energy landscape.
