Oceaneering International Strengthens Its Presence in Qatar with a New Contract
Oceaneering International has secured a significant five-year contract for inspection and asset integrity services in Qatar. This comes after over 20 years of the company’s successful operations in the region, highlighting its deep-rooted commitment and expertise in Middle Eastern markets. The winning bid followed a competitive tender process, showcasing Oceaneering’s strength in delivering top-tier services tailored to the unique demands of Qatar’s oil and gas sector.
This contract is awarded to Oceaneering’s Integrity Management and Digital Solutions (IMDS) segment by a prominent Qatar-based oil company, emphasizing the trust and reliability Oceaneering has built over the years. Notably, the contract also includes two optional one-year extensions, giving both parties flexibility and room for continued collaboration based on performance and satisfaction.
Oceaneering is set to deliver a range of specialized services under this contract, including non-destructive testing and various inspection services. The company aims to utilize its local workforce to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, thereby enriching the local talent pool. Additionally, the integration of Oceaneering’s Inform digital inspection software will enhance the overall service delivery, ensuring transparency and reliability.
As part of this initiative, Oceaneering may also deploy its innovative Vision data visualization platform. This state-of-the-art technology facilitates real-time data analysis and enhances decision-making, significantly improving asset management and uptime. Leo Granato, Senior Vice President of IMDS, emphasized the importance of this award, stating, “This award underscores our ability to deliver reliable, digitally enabled integrity solutions that enhance production reliability and asset uptime while supporting regulatory compliance.”
Granato further highlighted how Oceaneering’s established team in Qatar enables exceptionally safe and consistent execution of its innovative solutions. This focus not only strengthens operational effectiveness but also promotes the local workforce’s development, aligning with Qatar’s vision for sustainable growth and local capacity building.
Beyond Qatar, Oceaneering is making strides in its collaborations on a global scale. Recently, the company expanded its partnership with the Brazilian state-owned energy giant Petrobras through a new four-year agreement for remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services. This move indicates Oceaneering’s commitment to diversifying its portfolio and reinforcing its position as a leader in subsea technology and services worldwide.
