OneSubsea, a joint venture backed by SLB, Aker Solutions, and Subsea7, has recently secured two significant contracts with Norway’s Vår Energi, focusing on subsea production systems and gas export infrastructure in the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
The first contract pertains to subsea production systems at the Balder field. This project is part of the Balder Next New Wells initiative, which includes the development of four well systems based on single-can satellite configurations. Additionally, it encompasses the associated umbilical systems necessary for efficient operation and maintenance.
The second contract focuses on expanding gas export capabilities at the Goliat field, where OneSubsea will design and deliver infrastructure for the Goliat Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel. This upgrade is crucial for enhancing gas export functionality, linking the Goliat field to the Snøhvit system and Melkøya LNG facility. The Goliat gas export project significantly contributes to strengthening the Barents Sea’s role in the European gas supply network.
These contracts underscore the comprehensive service offerings of OneSubsea, which spans multiple specialized business lines: Subsea Production, Umbilical & Cable, and Processing Systems. A notable inclusion in the contract is the supply of multiphase meters, vital for monitoring and optimizing production in complex subsea environments.
