Groupe Beneteau has significantly expanded its multihull offerings. Once limited to Lagoon, which dominated the cruising catamaran market, the group now boasts four brands, including Excess, launched in 2019. This diversification aims to reach a wider array of yachting enthusiasts, especially evident in their latest entries into the powercat sector.
At the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022, the debut of new models from Prestige and Four Winns marked a pivotal moment for the group. Italy’s Garroni Design was chosen to craft the exterior aesthetics of both lines, setting a high standard for style and functionality.
The latest models from Four Winns, including the TH36, TH33, and TH38, were launched in September 2025 and have since been rebranded under Jeanneau to better penetrate global markets, particularly in Asia.

According to Tanguy Tertrais, Jeanneau’s Asia-Pacific Sales Director, the TH series was a natural fit for Jeanneau’s sporty and fun image, characterized by their Cap Camarat and DB Yachts series. The new branding now allows the TH line to connect with a broader audience, benefiting from Jeanneau’s extensive global dealer network and enhancing resale and service options for owners.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
During a sea trial in Cannes, I had the unique opportunity to test the TH38, designed for weekend adventures rather than mere day outings. The grey skies and choppy seas added a dramatic flair to the experience, setting the stage for the first impressions of this promising vessel.

As I approached the TH38, its streamlined silhouette drew my attention, boasting a sporty appeal that sidesteps the traditional bulkiness often associated with catamarans. A sweeping line of glazing and a raked windshield contribute to a modern aesthetic that feels integrated with its marine surroundings.
Once on board, the handling of the TH38 quickly became apparent. Designed with family in mind, it combines affordability, accessibility, and safety, creating an inviting environment for both new and seasoned boaters alike. Jérôme Dufour, Jeanneau’s Powerboat Product Manager, emphasized that the TH38 is a “boat for everyone,” simplifying the experience of operating it.
TRANSFORMER COCKPIT
One of the standout features is the robust 1.5m swim platform nestled between the twin outboard engines. This thoughtful design facilitates easy access to the water and positions the TH38 as an excellent choice for families seeking fun in the sun.

The cockpit is designed with twin corner sofas that can slide together or apart, adapting to the needs of any gathering. This modularity allows for a spacious lounging area or a cozy dining setup, enhancing the versatility of the TH38 and maximizing usable space aboard.
Creating a luxurious atmosphere is easy when the sofas can be converted into sun pads, making the cockpit increasingly inviting as conditions permit. Dufour commented, “Luxury comes from space and modularity,” clearly emphasizing the importance of adaptable environments conducive to relaxation.
FUN AT THE WHEEL
Taking control of the TH38 was a thrilling endeavor as we cruised into open waters. Its handling was surprisingly responsive, granting immediate confidence to even those less experienced in operating boats. Unlike many modern designs that lean into intricate technology, the TH38 remains true to a classic helm setup, prioritizing visibility and tactile feedback.

The TH38 achieved impressive speeds nearing 31 knots with minimal vibration, showcasing the skillful design work of Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group. The flat-turning capabilities reinforced its family-friendly design, with high gunwales and a sturdy hardtop ensuring safety for all onboard.
The midships area offered fantastic amenities including a wet bar, fridge, and grill, emphasizing social gatherings and leisure activities. With space to comfortably accommodate up to 14 people, the TH38 reaffirms its role as an exceptional vessel for entertaining and recreation.

Beneath the deck, the TH38 houses two twin cabins, each equipped with en-suite bathrooms and ample storage. Dufour remarked that although many buyers seek the exterior lifestyle, the beautifully designed interiors should not be overlooked.
BOW LOUNGE SUPREME
Accessing the foredeck is made easy through a central door in the windscreen, and the bow lounge quickly became my preferred spot for relaxation. Two C-shaped sofas equipped with integrated drinks holders and speakers created an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of luxury yachts.

As I settled in, the gentle hum of the twin 350hp Mercury outboards contributed to the serene experience while cruising at a comfortable 17 knots. The elevated position of the bow, coupled with smooth riding characteristics, made it feel as though I was gliding effortlessly over the water.
Throughout the time spent aboard the TH38, the focus shifted from complex systems to the sheer enjoyment of the journey. Dufour encapsulated this sentiment succinctly: “Jeanneau focuses on making boats better, so boaters can focus on having more fun on the water.” The TH38 stands out as a stellar option for those seeking memorable moments at sea.
