Nestled between inviting northern hillsides and a serene southern pier, this ecological retreat presents a harmonious blend of nature and recreation, creating a unique space dedicated to ecological education, retail, and cultural activities. A Harmonious Masterplan
The masterplan for LuxeIsland Farm is artfully circular, drawing visitors into a cohesive network that connects animal enclosures, creative workshops, retail spaces, and dining areas. This thoughtful layout enhances the experience of being in nature while emphasizing ecological mindfulness. New buildings are strategically embedded within the landscape, maintaining the valley’s continuous rhythm. Volumetric forms reminiscent of scattered stones or meteorites rise seamlessly from the ground, interwoven with misting systems and flourishing vegetation. This innovative design approach not only reduces the visual impact of the structures but enhances the immersive experience that connects visitors with the natural surroundings.
Each building within LuxeIsland Farm showcases the use of natural materials such as bamboo, timber, and stone. The creative workshop, a lightweight bamboo-woven pavilion, features a stunning domed canopy supported by stone-like structures. Its triangular perforations not only permit filtered daylight to dance across the interior but also forge dynamic shadow patterns that increase spatial interest. This versatile layout functions effectively as a café, a rest area, and a flexible workspace, with operable facades that invite the lush greenery inside. Adding a sense of whimsy, a secondary pavilion dubbed the ‘silver disc’ serves as a hub for indulgence, featuring an ice cream and donut station that presents a modern contrast to the earthy tones of neighboring structures.
Meanwhile, the feed house invites closer interactions, reinforcing the social fabric of the site. The feed barn and washroom stand as a paired composition, showcasing floating bamboo-and-metal roofs that rest above textured finishes of stone and cement, exemplifying the seamless blend of comfort and design.
