35m Green Marine ketch sailing yacht Sojana has been sold.

The sailing world has seen exciting new developments with the sale of the 35-metre Green Marine yacht Sojana. The official transaction involved the expertise of Nicolas Marchand from Bernard Gallay Yacht Brokerage, representing the seller, and Hank Halsted from Northrop & Johnson, who introduced the buyer.

Sojana was delivered in 2003, crafted as a custom high-performance ketch. Its design came from the renowned Farr Yacht Design, with a mission to create one of the longest and fastest yachts manageable by an owner and friends without the need for extensive crew. In cruising mode, Sojana operates comfortably with a crew of five but can easily adapt for competitive racing with a full crew.

    Sojana was last asking €3,500,000

A notable aspect of Sojana is its commitment to continuous improvement. Following a comprehensive cosmetic and technical refit in 2016, significant upgrades were directed in 2022 and 2023. Modern enhancements include a newly installed engine, serviced generators, and an advanced North Sails 3Di sail wardrobe complemented by Hall Spars carbon rigging and a sophisticated B&G H5000 electronics suite.

The yacht is not just about aesthetics; it is engineered to excel on the racecourse. Sojana boasts a documented performance pedigree from prestigious regattas, including the St. Barths Bucket, Antigua Sailing Week, and the Palma Superyacht Cup. Under the previous ownership of the late Sir Peter Harrison, the yacht gathered numerous sailing victories, solidifying its reputation in competitive sailing circles.

Desiring to create a seamless blend of functionality and luxury, Ken Freivokh designed the yacht’s interior, showcasing a classic style with dark mahogany wood paneling and gold-plated fittings. Accommodations aboard Sojana include space for eight guests across four cabins featuring two doubles and a twin cabin, with the master suite strategically located forward. There’s also a cozy “kids’ cabin” for younger guests.

The main saloon is a highlight of the yacht, characterized by a “warm and understated” ambiance. With ample built-in seating, comfortable sofas, and a well-lit dining area, it’s designed for both relaxation and social engagement. The yacht is equipped with modern amenities like air-conditioning, Apple TV, a SONOS sound system, and a sparkling water machine, enriching the cruising experience.

According to BOATPro, she has been on the market since October 2023

Sojana measures 124GT, with a beam of 7.7 metres and a draught of 4.5 metres, providing a substantial presence on the water. She sails at a cruising speed of 10 knots under power and is capable of achieving “several knots faster” under sail, emphasizing her design intentions of speed and efficiency.

This exceptional sailing vessel was last listed for €3,500,000, embodying a blend of luxury, performance, and craftsmanship.
