Recent reports from Clarksons Research reveal that China’s shipbuilding industry accounted for an impressive 63.3% of global output, along with 80.9% of new orders and 73.3% of outstanding orders in the first half of 2026. This substantial market share provides Chinese shipbuilders access to one of the most extensive pools of design and production data—a crucial asset for the effective training of AI models.
