DOF Group, a prominent player in the maritime sector based in Norway, has recently secured a letter of award for a substantial contract valued between $100 million and $200 million. This contract is marked as “very large” and is set to span over four years, indicating a significant milestone for the company in terms of project scale and financial backing.

The contract will see DOF deploying its 2009-built vessel, the Skandi Hera, which is well-equipped for the extensive work anticipated. The expected start date for the operations is between late 2026 and early 2027, with a significant component of the contract also involving remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services. This highlights DOF’s commitment to integrating advanced technology in their operations, an essential factor in modern maritime activities.
While the award is promising, it remains subject to partner approval. This approval process is expected to conclude in the third quarter of this year, potentially paving the way for DOF to solidify its plans and engage its resources effectively.
In February 2023, DOF announced its intentions to embark on preparations for an offshore project in Argentina. The Skandi Hera will work alongside its sister vessel, the Skandi Patagonia, to undertake a project that spans over 250 days across two major campaigns during Q2 and Q3-Q4 of 2026. This commitment to operations in South America underscores DOF’s strategic expansion and adaptability in diverse markets.
The significance of this new contract and ongoing projects in Argentina reflects DOF Group’s resilience and growth trajectory within the global maritime industry. As the company continues to explore higher-value projects, both domestically and internationally, its operational footprint expands, reinforcing its position as a leader in the sector.
