    Alleima’s New Multimillion-Dollar Assignment in Indonesia

    Alleima, a leading manufacturer headquartered in Sweden, has recently secured a significant multimillion-dollar contract focused on advanced subsea components that will play a pivotal role in an upcoming energy project in Indonesia. This contract, valued at approximately SEK 995 million (more than $104 million), aligns with the company’s commitment to delivering high-value products in advanced stainless steels and special alloys, as well as innovative solutions for industrial heating.

    Overview of the Kutei North Hub Project

    The advanced umbilical tubes from Alleima are designated for the Kutei North Hub project, a major initiative located about 50 kilometers off the coast of East Kalimantan, Indonesia. This project represents one of the most significant energy developments in Indonesia in recent years. The Kutei North Hub encompasses a portfolio of 19 blocks, with 14 in Indonesia and five in Malaysia, under the supervision of Searah, a joint venture between Eni and Petronas. This partnership brings together their assets, technical know-how, and financial capabilities to enhance their presence and foster growth in Southeast Asia’s energy sector.

    Technical Specifications of the Umbilical Tubes

    Alleima will provide SAF 2507 advanced umbilical tubes specifically designed to withstand extreme seabed conditions, showcasing the company’s expertise in materials that are robust yet malleable enough for complex applications. These umbilicals will serve integral hydraulic control functions within the subsea systems, essential for maintaining communication between offshore facilities and subsea infrastructure.

    The project entails drilling 16 producing wells at depths ranging from 1,700 to 2,000 meters. Additionally, a newly built floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) unit will be installed, equipped to process over 1 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd) of gas alongside 90,000 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate. With a storage capacity of 1.4 million barrels, the FPSO will be crucial in supporting the large-scale production envisioned in this venture.

    Delivery Timeline and Volume Management

    Delivery of the umbilical tubes is planned between 2026 and 2030. The distribution of volumes throughout these years is strategically outlined, with 20% allocated for 2026, 60% for 2027, and the remaining 20% for 2030. This phased approach enables Alleima to manage production effectively while adapting to the evolving demands of the project.

    Umiblical tubes like those being developed for the Kutei North Hub are critical components in subsea systems. They must possess the ability to overcome various challenges, such as deep-sea pressures and corrosive environments.
