Recently, while setting up her new home, this writer found herself in a delightful fog of inspiration. After several trips to the bustling street-side markets of Delhi-NCR, countless hours scrolling through e-commerce sites for home decor, and digging deep into Instagram to admire various home-living brands, her mind brimmed with ideas. However, her hands held only an assortment of somewhat mismatched items: a few oddly-sized creepers, some potted plants, a pair of framed artworks, macrame plant holders, and fringed rugs.
Amidst the excitement of unboxing, it dawned on her—the space was mirroring her own aesthetic: plant-loving, clutter-free, artistic, and just a touch bohemian, thanks to her travels. As homes evolve beyond mere Pinterest mood boards and start reflecting individual personalities, interior spaces are becoming increasingly intimate. Conscious decisions about what to include, where to place items, and most importantly, the rationale behind these choices are becoming integral to designing a living space.

At the newly launched home décor showhouse, HōMAnAn, founder and interior stylist Anubha Laroiya Aneja is setting a trend by bringing a personal touch to home design. She has styled a sprawling 4,000 sq. ft. live-in residence in Delhi’s upscale Greater Kailash with a curated selection of 40 luxury design brands, all rooted in India. “HōmAnAn integrates furniture, lighting, soft furnishings, rugs, art, wall finishes, décor accents, and objects from homegrown brands, all experienced within a fully styled, lived-in home,” Anubha explains during a visit to this unique showhouse.
Showroom To ‘Showhouse’
Intrigued by the name, we inquire about the meaning of HōmAnAn. “Hōm draws from home (होम)—a place of comfort and belonging. It symbolizes the dwelling where life unfolds, where memories are made. AnAn, derived from Sanskrit, signifies breath, life, and essence—representing the unseen spirit that animates a space. It alludes to Ananta, the concept of infinity, indicating that a home is ever-evolving with the inhabitants,” Anubha shares, emphasizing that together, HōmAnAn embodies a home with a soul.

Anubha explains that the showhouse aims to address gaps in how people approach home design. “Many view design as overly transactional or downright intimidating. HōmAnAn was created as a gentle middle ground, resembling a real home where visitors can slow down, engage with the space, and understand how design harmonizes before making a choice,” she adds, showcasing the space, which is thoughtfully divided into six distinct rooms.
Welcome Home
The journey begins with a Puja Room reinvented with contemporary flair. Instead of a traditional altar, this spiritual space features geometric wall art inspired by Moroccan designs, crafted by the Indo-Italian pottery studio Studio Karamica. Slate boulders from the Himalayan region have been shaped into slabs to accommodate a Buddha statue, candles, and conch shells while clay bells create a soothing atmosphere. “Studio Karamica shapes each clay piece with intention and artistry, bringing the tranquil essence of the Himalayas to HōmAnAn,” Anubha shares, revealing that this is her favorite space, offering a sanctuary for peace and introspection.

Anubha’s profound understanding of individual lifestyles allows her to infuse personal flair into each room. The living room, for instance, is curated for an art lover, featuring rugs from Jaipur-based Understorey, Oyster Mushroom lights handcrafted from crushed lokta fiber paper by Orjaa, paired with vibrant gond-art pieces and customized furniture from Sarita Handa.

One of the bedrooms is styled reminiscent of an English countryside home, appealing to an old soul, adorned with muted tones of ivory, beige, and delicate greys, highlighted by vibrant blue floral wallpaper. An antique writing desk, vintage bedside table, ceramic vases, plush duvets, and tailored curtains frame large windows, filling the room with natural light. Another bedroom tells a minimalist story, washed in neutral hues of off-white and grey. “Many stores ask you to visualize; HōmAnAn allows you to experience design in real life. It’s not a showroom or catalog space but rather a genuine home, filled with diverse styles across six rooms. Here, you can see products in context, scale, and everyday use. Furniture is for sitting, rugs are for walking over, and lighting is for experiencing throughout the day. We emphasize clarity before commitment, not impulse buying,” Anubha explains during the walkthrough.

Anubha has meticulously curated each corner with artisanal furniture from Pune-based Jagdish Sutar, garden sculptures from Beruru, tableware from Anantaya in Jaipur, and decorative accents from several emerging brands. “Each brand is selected for its craftsmanship, material honesty, and longevity. Some showcase time-honored techniques, while others embody contemporary design sensibilities. The common thread is not trends but a sensibility rooted in authenticity. I choose brands I’d feel confident placing in my own home—pieces that are timeless, thoughtful, and deeply rooted,” Anubha emphasizes.
Clarity over guesswork
With 40 brands featured, Anubha’s goal is not to inundate visitors with choices but to provide clarity in their design journey. “Experiential luxury allows individuals to feel before they buy, fostering an understanding of value that transcends price, and establishing emotional ties. Experience mitigates doubt, replacing guesswork with confidence, which is truly luxurious today,” she remarks.
In a world where feelings are prioritized over mere finishes, Anubha posits that the future of living resides in creating homes that enhance emotional and mental well-being, rather than just visual appeal. “There’s a greater focus on comfort, sustainability, authenticity, and longevity. Today, people are questioning why an item belongs in their home, rather than simply how it looks. This profound shift is exactly the kind of atmosphere HōmAnAn aims to cultivate,” she concludes as our immersive tour comes to a thoughtful close.
