Qatar to Host the 6th Luxury Classic Cars Competition & Exhibition
Under the esteemed patronage of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Qatar Museums (QM), the Qatar Gulf Classic Car Association (QGCCA) is gearing up to host the 6th Qatar Luxury Classic Cars Competition & Exhibition 2025. This highly anticipated event will take place from November 19 to 23 at the stunning Medina Central on Pearl Island.
A Gathering of Automotive Excellence
The exhibition promises to showcase an extraordinary collection of luxury classic cars from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. These vehicles will represent a wide range of historical categories, emphasizing the event’s growing prestige in the automotive realm. Press Conference and Participant Preparations
In preparation for this grand assembly of automotive enthusiasts, QGCCA hosted a press conference. Senior officials and key representatives from various supporting organizations attended, including the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and the Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani Museum. During the conference, Eng. Abdul Latif Ali Al Yafai, Board Member and Secretary-General of QGCCA, underlined the importance of collaboration to ensure the event’s success.
He mentioned that the 2025 edition will see unprecedented growth in terms of both space and participation. As part of the preparations, the QGCCA has shortlisted 71 luxury classic cars from an impressive pool of 180 total registrations. These vehicles have been categorized into five distinct classes, adhering to standards set by the Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens (FIVA).
Judging Criteria and Awards
An expert panel of six race officials, comprising four international stewards and two local Qatari stewards, has been formed to supervise the competition. This committee’s extensive experience in evaluating classic cars ensures a fair and rigorous judging process. The competition will feature five prestigious excellence awards, including Best Exceptional Luxury Car, Best-Preserved Authentic Car, and Best Car in the Exhibition Award, with winners announced during the closing ceremony on November 23.
Educational Initiatives and Community Engagement
In addition to the competition, QM will participate with a symbolic car, aiming to promote educational initiatives related to classic cars. Mohamed Zidan Al Zidan, Deputy CEO for Operations at QM, emphasized the importance of integrating educational programs for students.
