VinFast has announced a major restructuring of its automotive portfolio while unveiling two new ultra-luxury models
The Vietnamese automaker VinFast is making waves in the automotive industry with its recent announcement of a strategic overhaul of its vehicle lineup. This move comes on the heels of introducing two new ultra-luxury models, the Lac Hong 800S and 900S. By organizing its brand into three distinct lines—Lac Hong, VF, and Green—VinFast aims to cater to various segments of the market more effectively.
The Lac Hong brand is dedicated to ultra-luxury vehicles, epitomizing the pinnacle of luxury with a strong connection to Vietnamese culture. In contrast, the VF line focuses on mass-market electric vehicles, showcasing VinFast’s commitment to sustainability and modern mobility solutions. Lastly, the Green brand is concentrated on commercial and service mobility solutions, further diversifying VinFast’s offerings to meet growing demands in various sectors.

The Lac Hong 800S and 900S extend VinFast’s flagship luxury portfolio, joining the previously announced Lac Hong 900 LX. These models are not just vehicles; they are cultural statements, intricately designed with inspirations drawn fromVietnamese heritage. Elements like bamboo motifs, symbols of the Lac bird, and details reminiscent of Dong Son bronze drums are seamlessly integrated into both the exterior and interior designs, showcasing a deep-rooted appreciation for cultural artistry.

Inside the Lac Hong 800S and 900S, luxury meets comfort with an array of premium materials that include Nappa leather, rare woods, and gold-plated accents. Additionally, modern technological conveniences such as advanced infotainment systems and zero-gravity seating enhance the overall experience, ensuring that both drivers and passengers feel a sense of indulgence. Automatic power-assisted doors add an extra layer of sophistication and ease, making entry and exit a breeze.
Performance-wise, the Lac Hong 800S and 900S can be configured with a revolutionary tri-motor powertrain, generating up to 460 kW. This powerful system is paired with a fully active suspension, designed not only to enhance comfort but also to bolster driving performance. With production slated to commence in 2027, these models are poised to redefine luxury electric vehicles.
Currently, VinFast has embarked on its journey in the Indian automotive market with its VF 6 and VF 7 electric vehicles. While the Lac Hong luxury EVs are not expected in India immediately, their arrival could depend on the successful reception of VinFast’s offerings in the region. Should demand surge, it’s conceivable that these ultra-luxury models could find their way to Indian consumers, but such developments remain contingent on the evolving dynamics of the automotive market.
