Massive crowds enjoyed a spectacular 36th Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show with a record number of boats delivering an unsurpassed display of marine innovation, luxury, and lifestyle.
“We’ve had an incredible 824 boats in total—422 on water and 402 on land,” said Corey Rattray-Wood, Head of Events at Mulpha Events. This record-breaking figure marks nearly a 10% increase from last year’s Show.
This year’s SCIBS featured a variety of marine technology and ultra-luxury yachts, captivating tens of thousands of visitors. Headlining the event were showstoppers such as the revolutionary **Candela C-8**, a 100% electric hydrofoiling vessel, and the multi-million-dollar Italian marvel **Pazienza** from Cantiere delle Marche. Exhibitors also showcased $100 million worth of marine innovation from **Horizon Yachts Australia** and a stunning $50 million showcase from **Riviera**, including two global premieres.
Mr. Rattray-Wood received positive feedback from exhibitors, who reported strong sales and engaged audiences throughout the four days. “Our exhibitors continue to invest in SCIBS as the number one show on the marine lifestyle calendar, resulting in an elevated experience across all segments.”
As final attendance figures are being calculated, early indicators suggest an impressive turnout.
Vibrant Crowds, Strong Sales, and World Premieres
Phil Candler, Operations Manager at Maritimo, noted the perfect Gold Coast weather helped set the stage for vibrant interactions. “We had almost 1,000 guests at our stand, resulting in significant engagement and sales,” he said.
Maritimo celebrated the global launch of the reimagined **M50 Flybridge Motor Yacht** and the **S50 Sedan Motor Yacht**, both creating buzz among visitors. “Our brand recognition has grown profoundly, and it’s gratifying to see our hard work come to fruition.”
This sentiment was echoed across various exhibitors. Mark Richards, founder of Palm Beach Motor Yachts, expressed excitement, stating, “This year’s visitor numbers are the best we’ve seen in years, translating into strong interest and leads.”
Palm Beach showcased award-winning models, including the **Palm Beach 50** and **65**, with several contracts under negotiation.
Riviera also had a standout presence, displaying 12 yachts in a fleet ranging from 43 to 78 feet. Over 2,000 Riviera owners visited during the first three days, eager to inspect new models and partake in the exclusive Festival of Boating program. “The response to our new launches exceeded our expectations,” noted Stephen Milne, Riviera Brand and Communications Director.
Long-term SCIBS partner, Bentley Brisbane & Gold Coast, commended the quality of attendees. “This year’s Show felt particularly elevated in terms of brand displays,” said Rebecca Henry, Group Marketing Manager. “We’ve generated a strong pipeline of qualified leads and engaged with a discerning clientele.”
Meanwhile, Navico Group, a leader in marine electronics, also enjoyed outstanding engagement, launching cutting-edge products at the Show.
More Than Boats: Champagne, Cars, and Lifestyle
SCIBS was not solely focused on marine crafts; it also highlighted luxury lifestyle experiences. The **Lagoon Beach Club** served as a hub for networking, featuring offerings from luxury partners such as **Moët Hennessy Australia** and **General Motors Specialty Vehicles**.
Aimee Madson, Director of Marketing for Lotus Cars QLD, emphasized the event’s ability to engage high-caliber audiences. “To walk away with over 100 new fans is brilliant for us.”
