The vibrant atmosphere of the Qatar Luxury Classic Car Competition and Exhibition has returned for its sixth edition, captivating enthusiasts and visitors alike from November 20 to 23, 2025, at The Pearl Island in Doha. Organized by the Gulf-Qatari Classic Cars Association and graced by the patronage of HE Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, the event has attracted notable dignitaries, including HE Ahmed bin Ali Al Hammadi, Director General of the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority, alongside ambassadors and senior officials.

    An Unprecedented Showcase of Luxury

This year’s exhibition stands out with its innovative layout and doubled display space, featuring an extensive array of the world’s rarest classic cars. With participation from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and supervision from the International Federation of Historic Vehicles (FIVA), the event promises a spectacular visual feast for automotive aficionados.

    A Platform for Enthusiasts

According to HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, Chairman of the Gulf-Qatari Classic Cars Association, the exhibition transcends mere car displays to tell stories of innovation, design, and history, enriching Qatar’s cultural identity. His Excellency emphasized that this edition marks a qualitative milestone, underscoring the nation’s commitment to preserving its cultural and engineering heritage. The remarkable participation from GCC countries highlights the event’s growing influence among classic car enthusiasts.

    Fostering Engagement and Interaction

Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser bin Khaled Al-Thani, a board member of the association, expressed dedication to curating unique experiences for attendees. The exhibition fosters not just entertainment but cultural exchanges, where classic car owners interact with visitors and judges, creating an educational and engaging environment. Notably, this year’s event showcases a greater diversity of cars, reflecting increased interest among Qatari youth in classic automobiles—a testament to the association’s success in embedding car ownership as part of the national heritage.

A Rich Tapestry of Historical Collectibles

Eng. Abdulatif Ali Al Yafei, Secretary-General and Board Member of the Association, reported that approximately 40 percent of the exhibited cars hail from GCC countries, illustrating a rich collection that spans historical eras. The competition will adhere to stringent global criteria established by a specialized judging panel, ensuring a rigorous evaluation of outstanding vehicles. Awards will be presented based on these established standards on the final day, recognizing the top three entries in each category.

    Qatar Auto Museum’s Inaugural Presence

A significant highlight of this year’s event is the debut of the Qatar Auto Museum, as remarked by CEO Mohammed Saad Al Rumaihi. The museum’s participation not only showcases Qatar’s cultural history but also emphasizes the artistic value of automobiles. The museum is actively involved in judging the competition and hosting community workshops to bolster public interaction. Diversified Competition Categories

The classic car competition features five distinct categories, ranging from vehicles built before 1947 to those manufactured between 1982 and 1995. For the first time, winners will receive both monetary and in-kind awards, along with special recognitions for categories like Best Preserved Car and Most Iconic Car. This expanded range of awards speaks to the event’s commitment to honoring excellence and preserving automotive legacy.
