G Adventures is set to significantly enhance its Antarctic offerings this winter with the launch of a new expedition ship, the Ocean Adventurer. This vessel will replace the current ship in their fleet, named Expedition, and is expected to provide an exceptional experience for travelers seeking adventure in one of the world’s most pristine environments.
Ship Specifications and Amenities
The Ocean Adventurer spans 102 meters and is designed to accommodate 128 travelers comfortably. This new ship will feature various amenities that enhance the travel experience. Passengers can enjoy a restaurant and bar, a spacious presentation lounge for educational talks, a well-stocked library, and a fitness area. For those who want to soak in the stunning views, the ship boasts an observation deck and sundeck, complete with outdoor jacuzzis.
The onboard accommodation options are varied, featuring 70 cabins with configurations that cater to various travel styles. Whether you’re seeking a cozy twin cabin or a more spacious suite with larger windows, there’s something for everyone. Notably, the ship will also offer multi-share twin or triple cabin configurations, making it ideal for families or groups of friends traveling together.

Environmental Commitment
G Adventures emphasizes sustainability, and the launch of the Ocean Adventurer aligns with this commitment. Founder Bruce Poon Tip shared that the transition to this new ship is estimated to reduce the overall carbon footprint per person per day by up to 30%. This marks a significant step towards their broader climate goals while continuing to deliver unforgettable expedition experiences.

These knowledgeable guides will lead various excursions, including unique activities like camping on the ice and kayaking through the breathtaking icy waters.

In April, G Adventures became the newest member of the US Tour Operators Association (USTOA), marking an important milestone in its journey as a community tourism operator. Established in 1990, G Adventures has consistently focused on small-group travel, prioritizing meaningful connections with communities and the environment.
