The Charm of Panorama Chique: A New Luxury Home in Paradise Valley
Unmatched Views in Paradise Valley
Nestled in the stunning backdrop of Paradise Valley, Arizona, a newly constructed luxury home stands out with its captivating views of Camelback Mountain. Nature and design intertwine seamlessly in this elegant residence, aptly dubbed “Panorama Chique.” As Jeremy Meek, president of Desert Star Construction, aptly puts it, “There was no compromise with talent, design, and materials with this house. The homeowners wanted the best.”
The Vision Behind the Design
This ambitious project was spearheaded by Jeremy Meek, who collaborated closely with a team of experts, including Boston’s Catalano Architects, Manuel de Santaren for interiors, and the Berghoff Design Group for landscaping. The aim was clear: create a home that not only maximizes mountain views but also caters to the lifestyle needs of a couple with young adult children.
Acquiring a property in an established neighborhood from the 1960s posed significant challenges, particularly due to its tight lot and limited access. The solution was a complete teardown of the existing older home, with salvaged materials donated to charity, making way for a modern masterpiece.
Embracing Nature: Architecture and Layout
The luxurious 6,000-square-foot design wraps around an intimate central courtyard, drawing the gaze toward the expansive living areas that open into the outdoor space, showcasing breathtaking vistas of Camelback Mountain. The architects perfectly balanced classic ranch-style aesthetics with contemporary elements, creating a residence that harmonizes with the surrounding landscape.
Utilizing Old Texas Brick as exterior cladding and finishing it with a lime-washed texture, the home exudes warmth, depth, and an inviting charm. This is complemented by a combination of fired clay tiles for the roof and bold steel-framed windows that allow natural light to flood the interiors.
Artistic Touches in Every Corner
A focal point at the entryway is a stunning wall sculpture by renowned Ghanaian artist El Anatsui, beautifully illuminated by concealed skylights. The home not only functions as a residence but as a gallery, where art meets architecture in perfect harmony.
The open floor plan is anchored by a spacious great room featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows that frame the picturesque mountain views. Luxury and comfort blend seamlessly with a neutral palette that enhances the home’s artistic elements.
Luxurious Interiors: A Focus on Craftsmanship
As one wanders through the home, the quality of craftsmanship is evident. Various slabs of granite, marble, limestone, and quartzite have been thoughtfully chosen, lending a unique character to surfaces from countertops to walls. The interior design reflects the homeowners’ artistic passion, emphasizing a muted color palette to allow artwork to shine.
De Santaren’s expertise in art and design ensured that existing art collections were incorporated into the space. Custom furnishings designed for comfort and luxury complete the aesthetic, including the living room sofa and cocktail tables, which add a sense of bespoke elegance.
Outdoor Serenity: A Perfect Oasis
Outside, the landscape reflects a thoughtful design that integrates traditional plantings with desert natives. A hedge of drought-tolerant hop bush provides privacy, while a negative-edge fountain adds a touch of tranquility, mirroring the serene desert surroundings.
Amid the challenges of project execution during the pandemic, most communications and updates were conducted virtually. Despite these hurdles, the commitment to delivering an uncompromised value for clients resulted in a stunning retreat that serves as a soothing gathering place for family and friends.
A Testament to Distinguished Design
The Panorama Chique home is a striking illustration of how thoughtful design can create a luxurious yet inviting space that resonates with the environment. From the breathtaking views to the carefully curated interiors, it epitomizes the pinnacle of modern luxury living in Paradise Valley. This residence is not just a home; it’s an experience, a lifestyle, and a testament to the art of architecture.
