Brunswick Corporation, a leader in marine innovation, recently made waves at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas by showcasing its extensive range of advanced technologies. Central to this year’s presentation was the groundbreaking initiative named ‘Boating Intelligence,’ representing a bold extension of Brunswick’s overarching ACES strategy, which focuses on Autonomous, Connected, Electrified, and Shared boating experiences.
The Vision Behind Boating Intelligence
At the heart of Brunswick’s ‘Boating Intelligence’ initiative is the integration of artificial intelligence across its product lineup. This visionary approach aims to simplify, secure, and enhance the overall boating experience while promoting sustainability and smarter technology. By leveraging AI, Brunswick endeavors to transform traditional boating into a more intuitive and enjoyable activity, setting a new standard in the industry.
Cutting-Edge Demonstrations
One of the highlights of the CES event was a 200-degree virtual boat helm simulator featuring Brunswick’s pioneering AI-powered co-captain technology. This immersive experience allowed attendees to explore advanced features such as assisted navigation, safety monitoring, and autonomous maneuverability. Participants quickly noted how these innovations made boating safer and easier, showcasing the potential of AI to enhance user engagement on the water.
Additionally, Brunswick introduced its first Fliteboard eFoil immersive simulator. Attendees could experience the exhilaration of riding an electric hydrofoil, allowing them to navigate through beautifully rendered environments with a simple handheld controller. This innovative simulator delivered a taste of the future of aquatic leisure, marrying technology with thrilling outdoor experiences.
Leadership Insights
“CES is the premier platform for consumer technology, making it an ideal venue for Brunswick to reveal how we’re redefining boating,” explained Dave Foulkes, CEO of Brunswick Corporation. He expressed enthusiasm about demonstrating how the company’s innovative technologies can transform boats into smart, reliable partners for both owners and members of the Freedom Boat Club.
Showcasing Autonomous Innovations
Brunswick’s display was replete with intriguing experiences, including the latest advancements in autonomous docking technology. A cutting-edge development version of Brunswick’s autonomous docking system was showcased both virtually and on a 40-foot Boston Whaler 405 Conquest. Live demonstrations included object tracking and classification, all presented through an intuitive user interface on a large Simrad multifunction screen. This system promises to revolutionize how boaters approach docking, enhancing safety and ease of use.
Moreover, attendees were captivated by a presentation of Brunswick’s high-power electric boat concept. This innovative propulsion system, fully integrated with high voltage technology, was displayed via a detailed cut-away model accompanied by dynamic animations that highlighted its features.
Celebrated Products at CES
Brunswick also showcased three products that garnered CES Innovation Awards: the formidable Mercury Marine 600hp V12 outboard motor, the versatile Mercury Marine Aviator electric outboards, and the state-of-the-art 1st Mate connected Marine Safety and Security System. Each of these innovations reflects Brunswick’s commitment to power, performance, and safety in marine environments.
One of the stars of the exhibition was an impressive 41-foot boat, which could reach prices upwards of $2 million, depending on how many V12 outboards the owner opts to install. Each Mercury Verado 600-hp 7.6-liter V12 outboard is priced at approximately $83,195, with the possibility of mounting multiple units on the rear of the vessel.
Performance Meets Luxury
The Mercury Marine 600hp V12 motor represents more than just raw power; it boasts electro-hydraulic controls that deliver instantaneous response to operators’ commands, enabling unmatched maneuverability. A representative from Brunswick aptly dubbed the vessel as the ‘SUV of the seas,’ highlighting its dual-console cabin cruiser design that seamlessly blends performance, comfort, and ‘fishability,’ making it highly desirable among boating enthusiasts.
A Sustainable Future
