A fierce fire gutted a warehouse storing luxury vehicles in Pak Kret district of Nonthaburi on Friday morning, devastating the valuable assets within. The blaze resulted in the destruction of five supercars and 45 Tesla electric cars, leading to an estimated loss exceeding 190 million baht.
Firefighters were dispatched to the high-end auto garage located in tambon Om Kret after police received an emergency alert around 8:30 AM. Upon arrival, they faced a rapidly escalating situation, as flames engulfed the structure and extended dangerously close to their equipment.
Flight Sergeant Third Class Ekkarat Sartsanasunthornchai, present at the scene, reported that closed-circuit television footage revealed a startling flash of white light around 7:50 AM, which is believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit. This seemingly minor incident triggered the ferocious fire that followed.
Firefighters sprang into action, racing against time to control the inferno. However, as the flames intensified, they were forced to retreat, putting their safety first. The situation proved to be catastrophic — not only were the vehicles inside destroyed, but the fire also damaged one of the fire trucks deployed to combat the blaze.
According to initial assessments by police investigators, the financial toll from the fire is staggering. The five supercars destroyed are valued at about 100 million baht, while the loss of the 45 Tesla vehicles accounts for an additional 90 million baht, culminating in a total loss that raises significant concerns among luxury vehicle owners in the region.
