Discover the Trailblazing Azimut Grande 44M Yacht

The Pioneering Azimut Grande 44M Yacht: A New Era in Luxury Yachting

Azimut Yachts has just launched a remarkable addition to its lineup: the Azimut Grande 44M. Stretching an impressive 143 feet (43.6 meters), this yacht marks a significant leap into the realm of superyachts. But it’s not merely about size; the Grande 44M aligns perfectly with the desires of discerning shipyard customers, showcasing cutting-edge technological advancements that elevate the yachting experience.

    A Shift in Focus

For many years, Azimut has painted the seascapes with a diverse array of motoryachts, ranging from sporty vessels to long-range models, many of which are production yachts. However, there’s been a noticeable shift toward larger builds. Recent reports reveal that more than two-thirds of Azimut’s projects are now exceeding 80 feet (24 meters). By introducing the 44M, Azimut is not just expanding its portfolio; it’s solidifying customer loyalty and keeping the Azimut family intact for longer.

    Customization and Design

Customization is at the heart of the Azimut Grande 44M. Clients enjoy a range of familiar features from other Grande models, as evidenced by the collaboration with design firm m²atelier. The yacht accommodates 12 guests comfortably, although there’s flexibility to configure for 10. A standout feature is the Mezzanine Deck with a Sea View Terrace, first introduced on the Azimut Grande Trideck. This elevated space comes with a breathtaking glass-sided and glass-bottomed pool, enhancing the beach club experience.

    Innovative Construction Methodology

One of the standout narratives surrounding the Grande 44M is its innovative construction method. The Azimut R&D division has utilized carbon fiber composite for over half of the yacht, resulting in substantial weight savings—8 tons on the superstructure alone. This approach is innovative even with the inclusion of a fourth deck. Additionally, the yacht employs Hull Vane’s foils to decrease drag, pitch, and roll. Remarkably, these foils weigh just 882 pounds (400 kilograms) compared to the 3,307 pounds (1,000 kilograms) typical of steel foils.

    Green Technology

The technological advancements don’t stop at construction. The Azimut Grande 44M integrates 323 square feet (30 square meters) of photovoltaic solar panels into its fourth deck. These panels charge batteries that power hotel loads, while a Mild Hybrid system allows for genset-free cruising. With two 50-kW electric motors acting as shaft generators for twin MAN engines, the yacht recharges its 188-kWh (upgradable to 230-kWh) battery pack in just two hours at a cruising speed of 15 knots. This combination enables eco-friendly enjoyment of three to four hours during the daytime and eight to ten hours at night, considerably reducing emissions by up to 30 percent when compared to traditional yachts of similar size.

    Lifestyle and Leisure

The crowning jewel of the Grande 44M is its elegantly designed fourth deck, which houses the wheelhouse. This frees up the third deck entirely for leisure activities, allowing clients to transform the forward area into a dining room, media room, or extra lounge. Moreover, this deck features an alfresco lounge equipped with a cozy firepit for those serene evenings while cruising under the stars.

    Demand and Anticipation

The Grande 44M has already caught the attention of yacht enthusiasts, with seven contracts signed for this compelling model. Potential buyers and enthusiasts alike will get their first glimpse of hull number one at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival this September, where Azimut will proudly showcase the future of luxury yachting.
